Workshop Requirements

 

In order to deliver De-TURF workshops we request the following:

 

PARTICIPANTS:

The maximum number of participants is 25 per class (depending on space size this can be more)

 

CLOTHES:

Suitable loose clothing, such as tracksuits or PE kit, should be worn and no skirts, trousers, ties, hats etc.

 

HAIR:

Long hair must be tied back or up.

 

JEWELLERY:

No jewellery (if jewellery has to stay in/on, it must be covered with a plaster or sticky tape).

 

FOOTWEAR:

Trainers, pumps or dance footwear must be worn (no socks or full length tights without appropiate footwear). For De-TURF all creative with dance pupils/students, bare feet is ideal.

 

THE SPACE:

A clean, clear well heated or cool temperature space. Preferably with a wooden sprung floor, and no carpet or concrete sub-floor. A suitable size space for the whole class and dedicated use of the space for the full duration of a De-TURF fitness workshops is required.

 

EQUIPMENT: 

In order to deliver our workshops we use a variety of P.E equipment. In most cases these will need to be provided by the school. The equipment includes Bean bags, Hula hoops, Balls, Bats/Rackets, Play hok-hockey sticks and Gym rings. However, where these are unavailable, substitute equipment can be brought in by the De-TURF teacher. Ideally, there will also be an IPod touch dock/adapter, CD player or TV monitor connected to DVD player.

 

SUPPORT WORKER:

At least one teacher/assistant is required to be present in these sessions. We encourage the member(s) of staff to take part in the sessions to understand what De-TURF mentally, physically feels like and what it has to offer!
